The experience opened with an odd paranoid, light-headed state in which meaningful conversation with a partner proved impossible and emotions felt flat. Around the midpoint substantial visuals arrived, with fantasy weaving easily into music, including elaborate architectural imagery evoked by a string quintet. Emotional connection returned toward the end, food tasted good, and sleep came at the eighth or ninth hour.
