++ PLUS TWO — Both the timing and the character are unmistakable, but you can still choose to let it stay in the background and carry on with ordinary activities.

Intoxication began at 55 minutes, with nausea and stomach fullness by seventy minutes, impaired walking, and wavy peripheral vision. By 100 minutes there were pronounced closed-eye visuals, but the emotional tone was crushing, swinging between profound crying and calm as the writer relived every personal failure, while body temperature seemed to cycle between hot and chilled and stomach pain peaked in the third and fourth hours. Television became watchable again by the sixth hour, residue lingered to nine hours, and only small sips of water were tolerable until the eighth hour, leaving the writer dehydrated but otherwise fine the next day.
