Hoping for a visual experience, the author instead spent most of the day locked in strenuous self-analysis, restless and energized but unable to break through. A vision of a brilliant point of white light carried an overwhelming sense of the divine; the author longed for it to draw nearer, but it faded and did not return. Music brought moments of tremendous beauty, and images of global suffering alternated with joy. The day ended in peace, with a sense of real accomplishment and feeling clear and unburdened.
