Effects were noticed at 45 minutes, and by two hours the writer was in prolonged, severe discomfort: sinus pain, hypersensitivity to light and sound, and a sensation of a single mind inhabiting two universes at once. Vision split along a vertical axis with the two halves moving independently, nausea would not resolve, and vertigo made closing the eyes or lying down unbearable. Boundaries between self and surroundings dissolved alarmingly. A sedative and eventual sleep helped, but head buzzing, unsteady balance, and a dazed feeling persisted for three days and traces remained after a week.
