After split dosing and initial mild nausea, tremor, and eye dilation, the second hour delivered a state closely resembling mescaline minus its intense color enhancement, with the visual world warping and in motion. Alternating episodes of numb little fingers and faint-feeling light-headedness caused concern until the author trusted in recovery, after which humor and joy returned. Decline was rapid between the fifth and eighth hours, with nothing left by twelve.
